hilary williams.

My BFF Jess posted a link in the comment section of a former post alerting me to the work of Hilary Williams, and WOWZAH, I’m in love. In TOTAL and utter love.

I adore her city scene paintings and prints; they make me want to pick up and leave tomorrow and just explore— different cities, streets and areas ALL over the world. I’ve never had a piece of art do that to me before, and it’s quite nice to feel.

And gracious, have you ever seen a McDonald’s look so beautiful?

Hilary is based in San Francisco and has QUITE the artist process:

In creating her screen prints she takes most of her own photographs, and each other stencil is created by hand, with ten to twenty layers stenciled and then printed on each piece. Her paintings are composed of stretched fabrics on boards. She then layers acrylic with screen printing and other mixed media.

Whew! I’m exhausted just READING that.

Thank you my dear Jess for the link, and thank YOU, Hilary, for being SO SO fabulous! :)

  • you are most welcome, my dear BFF! That’s what BFF’s are for. :)
As for Hilary Williams- I saw her work in a gallery in SF when I was there last year and am still kicking myself for not buying one. Darn!
