checking in!

I haven’t checked in with you in like, forever, because I’m in the middle of flooring hell. If you’re unsure as to what flooring hell consists of, you can ask me. Or, you can just seal your newly-laid hickory with oil-based sealant, realize you were supposed to use water-based, cry, sand and re-seal your newly-laid hickory again. And then again, and again. Fourth times the charm.

But, the good news? Our house is looking super cute. Here’s proof:

Go ahead and ignore the tool craziness in the corner. A work in progress indeed.

  • I was JUST thinking of you this morning, wondering how things were going (and needing to send you an email!) Hang in there hon… it’s going to look so wonderful that you’ll be glad you stained and sealed those floors ’cause when I come to visit, I might be drooling all over ’em ;)

  • Really beautiful. A work-in-progress, looks like the end is near. I see so much potential and so much SPACE! What a pleasure it will be to decorate and inhabit your love-nest.
    Carpentry runs in my family… I love shop tools. {{<3}}

  • ouch, that hurts.

    but it’s looking so good. i just love the ceilings. do you have to seal those, too? i’ve watched the tour video over and over, and made my husband watch it with me, too. dream house.

  • ahhh thank you lovely things! :) we’re definitely in the home stretch; gotta keep my eye on the prize! :)

  • The floors, wall, ceilings, and lighting all look so good and make your home seem so much more spacious! So glad the worst is behind (or should I say under) you, and just in time for Christmas!
    Love, Library Lady
