introducing… the NEW dfm.

I often get itchy and bored when staring at the same site for hours, so why not change it up this year? It’s not really a new site, of course, but there are a few features I should call out:

1. Design For MYkind
Things are about to get a bit personal around here, folks! For the past year, I’ve been documenting my renovation, outfits and thoughts in a different section of the site, and now we’re jumbling them all together like a really yummy guacamole. You’ll like it, I promise. And you’ll find everything on the homepage in one fell swoop (as well as right here in the Design For MYkind category). No more buried posts, clicking adventures and the like. Yay!

2. RSS Feeds
If you’re currently already subscribing to my feed via RSS, ignore this. If you’re not, you should be. Anyway, there are two separate RSS feeds you’ll see on the top right: (1) MANKIND – where I post design finds and art awesome, and (2) MYKIND – where I post about my life and personal, inspirational stuff. When I conducted my last survey, a few readers mentioned they loved me but hated art/design, so there’s your solution! Just Erin without the 5-6 design finds I unearth each day. So, you can either subscribe to MANKIND (which will send every post on the site to your RSS, including design and personal) or MYKIND (which will send every “Erin”-centered post to your RSS and nothing more). Make sense? Whew. That was a rough one.

3. Thank You
A HUGE thank you to Susy Jack, my design extraordinaire who is awesome and talented. (Hire her.) My programmer is also completely rad (and ridiculously smart) and puts up with my shenanigans on a weekly basis (thank you, Rob!). And, of course, a massive thanks to my sponsors, who funded this sweet adventure.

4. Comments
Aren’t those comments pretty? For those of you who comment on a regular basis, you know that I often email replies to you personally. I might still do that, or I might not. What I will do is keep the comment sections happenin’ with replies, answers and additional tidbits of awesome. Get involved. It makes me smile.

Lastly, thank YOU, for reading. I love meeting you here everyday and it keeps me from talking to myself, for which my husband and dogs are very grateful.

Happy Valentine’s Day, friends. I love you all.
