  • MYkind: a fun project!

    06.27.2011 / myKind

Although I still have quite a bit of work in my own home, I’ll be spending the next month re-decorating the living room of my sweet friend, Betsy. After all, sometimes you just need a breather from your own space, yes?

I’ll be partnering with Sherwin Williams and my favorite HGTV family to turn the below living space and loft into a calming getaway (using only paint colors from the new HGTV® HOME by Sherwin-Williams line!).

It’s going to be fun! I’ll reveal the after photos in a month or so, but until then… get ready for a big surprise. We’re going to be bidding farewell to all that red and introducing some gray to (a) better unify a yellow kitchen to the living area, and (b) present a calming oasis for a busy mother of two.

    More to come!

p.s. If you’re feeling lucky, there’s a sweeps happening over at BHG.com to win a $5,000 color makeover of your own!

    • YES! PROJECT!!!! :)

    • Ha! I am indeed totally Tai in this situation (at least my living room is) and Erin is most definitely Cher. ;-)

    • oh you are funny. :)

    • […] Here’s Erin’s post about it. I’m so excited! It doesn’t even seem real to me. We have had this red in the house for so long, that I can barely think outside of that box. Thank God for Erin! My hope is to go from dark and heavy to a lighter and happier room. Stay tuned for the big reveal in a month! […]

    • great taste in everything! happy new colors!!!!!! :-)

    • so excited!!!

    • SO excited for Betsy! I can’t wait to see what you do! We just bought a house and are painting EVERY single room so I don’t get stuck like Bets did! While we’re not living there it’s so much easier to just tackle it all! I can’t wait to watch the transformation!

    • thanks, jodie — and i don’t blame you! so smart to do it all up front. :)

    • […] -Living Room Make-Over wraps up. It will be blogged the first week of August! […]
