guest post // california camping.

Hi, I’m Kelly Lynn Jones! I will admit it, I am a workaholic.  It is hard for me to stay away from my computer or phone in regards to Little Paper Planes and when I am not working on LPP, then I am working in my studio on my own art practice.  There is little time for “fun” which are my own parameters I have drawn up for myself.  As I am getting older, I realize creating a space for contemplation and being still is extremely important…
Nature can always provide the escape from our modern, busy lives.  The beauty draws me in, but it is the constant change of nature that always stands out.  It is a reminder we are only here for a short time and that living in the moment and taking the time to be aware and present is essential.  I live in the Bay Area in beautiful California where nature surrounds my daily life, so day trips are quite easy and accessible.  Coming up in the next week a few friends and I will be going to Salt Point to camp and spend the days drifting down the Russian River in canoes.  I can’t wait to let the sun soak my skin, breathe the fresh air and let my daily grind melt away…
Loren Crosier (who works for LPP) and I thought this theme of camping would be a perfect way to curate pieces from Little Paper Planes for our newest Pinterest project called, Curated Walls.

The “California Camping” pinterest collection highlights the natural beauty of the golden state while also showing the adventure and intimacy of a camping trip. There are a handful of prints and ephemera in the LPP shop that go hand in hand with California, the outdoors, and exploration.  – Loren Crosier
