    black and white kids party

So yes, this garland is darling, but I’m really in mad love with the styling and this adorable little mini-mime! Beautiful party inspiration, don’t you think?

And while we’re on the subject of parties, what do you guys think about the picture-perfect children’s parties you see on blogs/mags? Yay or nay? Would you ever go all out to throw your kid a birthday party?

When Bee turns one, Ken and I are going to throw ourselves a party for making it through our first year! Ha!

    • Erin, you are totally on the right track. The first birthday party is TOTALLY for the parents. Luke’s fourth birthday party was this weekend and I still find myself planning a party for adults first, kids second. Peanut butter and jelly sandwiches for the kids. Pulled pork lettuce cups for the adults (and adventurous kids) Juice for the kids. Good wine for the adults. I had one planned activity – a mini pumpkin hunt and then the kids got to paint their pumpkins. The rest of the time they all ran around the yard and garden, wrestling on the lawn, playing hide and seek and pulling carrots.

It does get so much more awesome. (I think I just wrote the last line of my next blog post)

      • Ah – I love your insight, Kate! And OMG pulled pork lettuce cups sounds like the most magical thing to eat right now. YUM.

    • Megan

That’s why we had such a big party at year one – to celebrate making it and thank ALL the people who helped see us through that first year…it was more a THANK YOU party…regardless a celebration!

    • I am glad the Honest diapers are working out for you! We tried them briefly but really didn’t like the feel of them. I love that they are organic, but we are using Pampers and they seem to work better for us…
