Is it terrible of me that my first thought was of how much tape was wasted? It still looks like fun.
sorry erin, but my first thought too… how wasteful.
wow — you’re totally right! i hadn’t though of it that way!
e.
This is really interesting. I like the fact that it is outdoors and has the trees and the grass as the backdrop. Reminds me of an art installation I saw recently at a gallery in Mumbai – the artist had these miniature wire sculptures in black leaning against a cluster of real sugarcane. This was indoors. It had the green from the sugarcane but as I think about that now, maybe it could have made a better outdoor sculpture. Thanks for posting this!
I’m also with everyone that commented on the waste.
I can see how this would be considered fun when I was about 6 years old, now, especially running an etsy shop and contently looking for the best deal on shipping supply this just grate my nerves…
Damn, I feel like an old lady now…
no, no — i totally see your point! i wonder if it was real tape, or maybe it was salvaged?
I wonder if the artist considered our reaction to the wastefulness in conceptualizing the piece..maybe it’s part of the point? Perhaps she didn’t realize a bunch of rowdy teenagers would get their hands on it…? Wonder, too, if it’ll get refilled? Still, love that if you need a piece of tape in a pinch, you’d know where to go!
Unnecessary plastic pollution! looks like fun but stays forever on the planet!
wow! amazing
I’m curious about the guy on the inside…how can he breathe? and is there gonna be tape stuck to his hair??? ouch.
