Watching the Olympics (OBSESSIVELY!) got me thinking about new beginnings, learning, and commitment.
At some point in each of their respective lives, these athletes – the best in the world – woke up not knowing how to be good at their sport. There was one day in their lives when they started. And then they learned.
It’s so easy to get stuck in ruts, to think that the only things we have available to us are what we’ve already done or experienced. We get so intimidated by being beginners at something that we don’t ever try. We avoid the start to avoid the discomfort of not knowing how.
And in doing so, we inadvertently keep really amazing things out of our lives.
What’s something new you can start today? It’s okay to not know how – that’s what learning is for.
