I don’t recall ever having visited a circus, but I also have the spottiest memory in the world, so you never can tell with me. (Heck, I could have starred in the circus and wouldn’t remember – truly, my memory is that bad.) So when my girlfriend asked me to design a circus-inspired space for her new baby, I knew of a few things: striped big tops, magic shows and animals. And boom – a nursery was born!:
1. Orange rocker chair ($435) at Modernica
2. Magic poster (£120) at Dandy Star
3. Aqua striped lamp ($99.99) at Lamps Plus
4. Junior soft elephant ($68) at Jonathan Adler
5. Big Top cushion (£40) at Howkapow
6. Solid stripes crib quilt ($79) at Land of Nod
7. Admit One tray ($10.95) at Fishs Eddy
8. Tufted pouf ($78) at Nordstrom
9. Maileg strongman mouse ($20) at Smitten
10. Oslo crib ($1399) at Land of Nod
It’s been so fun to decorate thematically for a change. As a grown-up, I’d never dream of having a themed bedroom, but for some reason, it can be kind of darling for a kid. Oh, the things these littles stretch us to do!
p.s. A circus-inspired kid photo shoot!
And best of all, no clowns! Yay! Very cute. :-)
Seriously! Thanks. :)
I second that! Clowns are creepy.
Oh, definitely. I think that’s a universal truth!
That Maileg mouse!
Right? Such a favorite!
