a perfect gift for new parents.

Although I love the idea of gifting meals to new parents, I’m not particularly inventive in the kitchen so I often rely on shipping fresh fruit baskets or savory sweets to new mothers and faraway friends. And all too often I search high and low for a stylish option to send, dreading another unused wicker basket filling in the corner of my sweet recipient’s cabinets…

Enter Fruute, the home of Los Angeles’ famous tarts and fanciful flavors. Recognizing a need for a modern alternative to the age-old fruit basket, Fruute just launched a new venture to offer jam-packed food and gifts for a new generation of creative gift-givers. Housed in a premium felt “basket” for a subtly luxurious feel, Fruute curates their favorite gifts from around the globe into one charmingly useful (and delicious!) package.

With themes like Nu Baby, Game Night, Get Well Soon, Happy Burthday and Wedding/Anniversary, there’s truly a basket filled with delights for friends in any stage of their lives. (My favorite is Nu Baby, filled with dozens of mini sweets, baby cakes, fruit and a happy tissue box for new baby messes!) Each basket arrives with a personalized message in a tiny glass bottle – from you to yours.

With a seamless checkout process, affordable pricing ($39-$165) and speedy shipping, I’m sold. Tell me, what do you all typically gift to new parents? Are you a gift basket sender, too? I’d love to hear!

p.s. There’s a Christmas basket, too, just in case you’ve all been procrastinating on your holiday shopping!

  • This intrigued me so much, I immediately clicked on it…unfortunately it is yet another site that wants you to “sign up” in order to even SEE their products. Ugh. I for one am getting thoroughly turned off by the number of companies out there who feel the need to hold their products/services hostage until you ransom your personal information to them. Too bad for them….they just lost another potential customer!

    • @Jenni – Ah, I’m so sorry to hear that! But I do sort of agree; it’s becoming exhausting to keep track of endless sign-ups! :)
