new year’s resolutions: i’m in!

I rarely keep a running list of New Year’s Resolutions, but for some reason, it feels right this year. Maybe it’s because my renovation is almost finished(!) and transition is impending. And I simply can’t wait. I feel like I’ve been floating through life since we left Los Angeles, and although I do love the midwest, I’ve just felt… lost. The sort of lost you feel when you’re not quite home yet. When your favorite pieces of art aren’t hanging on your walls, but instead are hanging out in storage bins across town.

And although I have so, so much to be grateful for, I’m really looking forward to starting anew while re-visiting my roots. I can’t wait to host a dinner party, tile a backsplash and tarnish my own pots/pans. I can’t wait to figure out how to fold a fitted sheet (I know, I’m 27 and still can’t master that one) and build a tree house.

Anyway, I’m rambling. All of this to say that I can’t wait to share my resolutions for the new year with you guys. I’ll be spending the next few days thinking, listing and prioritizing. List to come!

Will you guys be resolving anything new in 2011? Or will you be flying free from the rulebook? Whatever it is you decide, enjoy this new year. It’s going to be a good one.

  • I look forward to your list! I have many… first and foremost to get out of freelancing and start something permanent so I can get my own place again and nest. I too have so much stuff in storage. I can’t wait to paint walls and update my look to much the same but with some new twists. xoxo

  • yes, folding fitted sheets is a snap – corners into corners. i want to stop watching people do things i love and start doing them myself.

  • Just wanna take this opportunity to thank you for your sharing your quirky-fun-fresh self with us. It was lots of fun meeting you in NYC on the Brizo trip and I enjoyed being on your team. You showed me a different point of view and inspired me to use pages and the pea steele font (which I did and successfully impressed a client). Here’s to finishing that reno in 2011, but then what will you do???

  • Okay, I’m late to the game here, but do you still have your old domino mags? September 2008. It’s been hiding in my old desk and I was just cleaning (Resolution #1!!) and found it. Check page 88.
