Below is a snippet of my hope-to-be-published memoir, Autohairography. If you know of a publisher that’s nice and likes quirky girls, please email me!

celebrities that crimp.
1. Tiffani Amber Thiessen. Specifically in that Saved by the Bell episode where Kelly won the modeling contract and Zach was a total douchebag. Douchebag with good hair, though.
2. Madonna. Multiple times.
3. Sigourney Weaver. You know, the Ghostbusters lady.
4. Any Poison bandmember. Any given day.
5. A Flock of Seagulls frontrunner, Mike Score. This was some particularly fantastic crimpage.
6. Candice Cameron a la D.J. Tanner.
7. Barbie.
8. Barbie’s horse, Tawny.
9. Molly Ringwald. But then again, what didn’t she do?
10. Janet Jackson. And I have my suspicions that big brother Michael did, as well.
I am so loving this!
I did a mini tour of my bad hair-do’s on flickr a few years ago. You might enjoy it! Bad hair loves company, after all.
You’re forgetting Demi Moore in St. Elmo’s Fire. She was my crimped hair ICON.
Hahaha! I bought a crimper from a garage sale when I was younger (it was in the last 90s, but my friend and I had an 80s stage) and was so excited to make my hair all crimpy. But then I got it home and there was hairspray burned to it and it was gross and I threw it out. So much for that…
omg you are SOOOOOOOOOO RIGHT, east side!
and ha! i love your hair tour, christine! :)
brittany — a used crimper? you are BOLD!
I FORGOT ABOUT DJ TANNER.
i wanted her entire bedroom. though i think i wanted to be the middle sister more than DJ. but i forgot her name. i think it was b/c i had super straight hair like DJ but the middle sister? She had blonde curls. I wanted blonde curls.
stephanie, duh! :)
I envied the girls with crimpers…I had to do the plaits over night thing! It looked so special with a cute thin ribbon holding it in a bit. Oooh my daughter literally just got off the phone with her school friends…today they have organised ‘plait day’ -plaits every which way.
Hah…Barbie’s Horse Tawny did me in, in total stitches…Love, Jules
hahahahah such fun!
