Oh, look! I’m halfway through my 30 day challenge! Super.
In true celebratory fashion, I have a surprise for you under my scarf. (No, not a hickey, you bad thing.)
That, my friends, is a 100% buttoned-up blouse. I’ve discovered the secret to rocking this without looking like a man with a curious affection for staplers. Want to know my theory?
It’s all in the scoop-line top layer. Forget the v-neck and embrace the scoop-line. I suppose a sweetheart neckline would work, as well, but I’m not too sure. And really, I’m not too sure about any of this, because I’m not style expert. BUT. I can tell you that I’m a new fan of the scoop-line + buttoned up look. Today, it worked.
I also love that I’m channeling some serious Iris Apfel up top. One more accessory and I’d tumble over.
Just the way I love it.
Above is an outfit for the 30/30/30 challenge, which you can read about right here. You’ll find my outfit photos in this space, along with my experiences in living with less over at ReadyMade Magazine every Thursday. Enjoy!
I hate to be repetitive but…..cutie PIE! :) I love your solution and those tights & oxfords are inspired. Love it!

I’m a 16-18 and 5’4″ – a woman of substance – do you think the shorts would be a no-no for me?
hi rose —
these shorts are actually more of a romper, but i always say try it on, and if you feel like twirling or grinning ear to ear, it’s a go!
hope this helps!
