i’ve been glamoured!

Dear Jo emailed me with a story idea a few weeks ago and I was floored when I discovered it was centered around my cross-country move!

I’m thrilled to grace the new Glamour blog, entitled Smitten, that Jo has been working so so hard on. I’m so proud of her and am so honored to be involved.

Thank you, Jo!
[note: The move is going VERY well! I’m writing this from a VERY cheap-o Super8 somewhere in Missourri, so I’ll check in with you as soon as we get in on Monday!]

  • Aww, the Midwest isn’t all bad! We made the exact same move about 3 years ago. Also, you’ll be closer to Michigan! (Where I live.)

    ;)

  • Love the interview! Good luck with your big move…it sounds like you are both in a place where you’re ready to make the move…but L.A. isn’t going to go anywhere so you can always move back some day (or not! sounds like you’ll have everything you need back home. :-).

  • I read the interview yesterday. I read your name… but it didn’t really register that it was you…

Nice to see you and hear a bit more about your move…

    Luck!!!

  • glad we haven’t heard any ‘bonnie & clyde’ type stories about you guys ;). great interview, but where is bernard in the photo. or, is he taking the pic?

  • Congratulations! (And glad to hear the move is going well – you should be back just in time for all the beautiful leaves and apple pie!)

  • i always think it is interesting to see what takes people from one part of the country to another.

i hope your arrival at your new hometown is a sweet one.

    ‘see’ you soon erin :)

  • Hi Erin

thanks for checking in with us! All new beginnings are exciting! best of luck!

  • i just loved the interview, and feel so much the same. i love living in oregon, but i look forward to the day when i move back east and live within a few hours of my family, rather than 3000 miles! thanks for posting!

  • Oh you all are so so sweet! Thanks for the support!!! :)

We’re officially in Indiana and I’ll be back to posting tomorrow!

    THANK YOU SO MUCH! :)

  • Great article angle and interview. I can completely relate – after 15 years of being away from our small-town home (with a wonderful stint in Chicago), we moved back. For our son, we searched & searched for the idyllic settings we enjoyed as kids. Finding none, we knew we had to go back. After 5 years here, we LOVE it. Hard to believe it was the right choice at the time, but now I can’t imagine anything else!

  • Good luck with the move. Well done on the glamour article. I’m heading over there to read it now.

  • it’s such a small world… i was wandering through blogs and came across jo’s blog and saw her post about this article, and totally had no idea it was you until i found my way back over here and found this!

congrats on the coverage – and best of luck on the move! :)

  • I made the same move last year: SF to Lincoln, NE. Mostly good, but I’m still in mourning for the food and the diversity. The family stuff, though? Amazing. And people here tend to be “real nice folks” (which should be trademarked and used on license plates). Let me know if you need any Cali-midwest support…we could start a club!

  • I loved reading this. What cuties you two are :)

  • My husband made the same list for me to encourage my move to the UK from No Cal. We definitely have the simple life here which I love, but our real estate is no less expensive than in CA. Perhaps we made a wrong turn?!
Hope you find a lovely little home.

  • It’s so so good to know that I’m not alone in this— although I couldn’t be more excited, I’m fully prepared to experience my share of culture shock. ;)

  • It’s always great to read more about you, to meet your husband… Congratulations for this fantastic feature!

  • oh erin, i read that!!! and i’m so excited for you :) and happy. change is good. and being closer to people you love is even better.

    take care girl!
