I like to keep a busy box on hand for afternoons when a girlfriend is in a pinch and needs to chat over tea for an (uninterrupted) hour or so. It’s simple enough; a box of craft supplies and activities the kids don’t have everyday access to – something to delight, surprise and busy them while the adults chat a few rooms over.
